My name is Ashley Whiteford, and I am a practicing Veterinary Nurse going on with six years of experience. Currently, I am devoted to an animal clinic located here in DFW, where we practice with small animals. My job and my connection with clients and their pets have become my driving force in starting AMW Photography. I was able to take my passion for photography and bring it into my life as a Veterinary Nurse over the last two years. We often work long hours, but I found joy in photographing bouncing puppies on my off days. Eventually, it became an addiction!

"Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life." -Confucius

I've been working behind the camera since high school, starting Sophmore year photographing friends and the fun things I could find in my backyard. AMW Photography started shortly after offering services more devoted to the "humans." Once I discovered my passion for photographing dogs, cats, and all other animals, the sky became the limit. With wagging tails and wet noses in front of my lens, I could capture the incredible bond I saw every day between people and their pets.
Our family of furry creatures continues to grow as we become foster fails, and rescues find their way to us. We live in a crazy adventure that is five dogs and three cats, but we love every minute of it. The hectic days which are full of energy and excitement, in the end, wind down to having a living room full of happy dogs up cuddling on the couch. As my fellow pet owners know, each animal has its own very distinct individual personality. My hope in my photography is to capture that personality and give you something that will last a lifetime.
From OUR family to YOURS

Abby Doodle
Abby was our first rescue mutt from a local animal rescue group. She was a tough cookie to crack. Her evident fear of humans showed her history of abuse as a puppy. She was friendly and exceptionally loving, but it took her time to trust us. Even longer to trust people outside the family. She came out of her shell shortly after we adopted our second dog, Angel. Angel seemed to give her the confidence to be a dog again!! Abby is now almost eight years old and has aged gracefully. She continues to be kind and gentle to every person she meets, no matter how terrifying they might be.
Angel
Angel is a 7-year-old Labrador Retriever/Border Collie mix. She was outside a pet store, just a ball of fluff, waiting to be adopted down in her little brown box. We had talked about bringing in a companion to help Abby, and it was perfect. She turned into your typical water-loving, tennis ball obsessed Labrador. People always come first in her book, and shes loved every person shes ever met. She can "come on" a little intense at first with a very exuberant greeting, but she is all love. Prepare for kisses with this one!
Bandit
Bandit was a bit of an accident, he was given to me as a present, and I couldn't refuse the cutest puppy in the world. He has been a trouble maker from day one and continues to keep us on our toes! A mix of husky and blue heeler gives him an insane amount of energy and stamina. He needs to continually have something to keep him occupied, whether it be toys, bones, or outside time. If anyone in our family is the life of the party, it's him. His weird shenanigans include; barking at nothing, hoarding balls, making strange noises, and running around the house like a fool.
Ghost
Ghost is a 3-year-old White German Shepherd dog. Although he is pure-bred, he happened to stumble into our laps. His first home didn't provide him with the right care or stimulation and due to residential contracts had to give him up. Eventually, at 15 weeks old, we were able to take over his care and a few months after gained ownership of him. He became nicknamed "The Prince" and became Grandma's favorite very quickly. He's quite the stud, and I'm pretty sure he is aware of how good he looks. Favorite pastimes include annoying the heck out of Angel, "booping" objects with his nose, and eating cucumbers?
Peaches
She is the most robust, meanest, and smallest (don't tell her that) out of the whole pack. Weighing in at 9ibs shes part Chihuahua and part Pekingese, but she's all sass. I adopted her when I learned a local rescue had a dog afflicted with a severe heart murmur. She had just had puppies and couldn't be spayed due to a high risk to her life. Initially, I was told she'd only have six months to a year at most. We are now going on three years and believe with continued treatment and care, we can carry on for several more! Our family is currently pursuing a surgical option to repair her heart! We will know more in the coming months <3

Lucille
Lucy and her siblings were found at a couple days old abandoned at a barn. This was my first-time bottle feeding, and before I even fathomed owning cats. As a Vet Nurse, I had the time and ability to take on these four little screaming kittens. Eventually, one rubbed off on me, and I couldn't give her up. She now believes she rules the "domain" that is my home. She insists on climbing to the highest furniture watching her minions down below. When she is not up to watching over her kingdom, she is at your feet, meowing up a storm. Most vocal kitty I have ever met!
Cara
Doesn't that picture just say it all? Cara was a stray cat a fellow employee had been feeding for several months. She was able to trap her to have her spayed as part of a TNR program. Something was different, though. She snuggled into my shoulder before surgery. She just didn't act "feral" when I was holding her. We took a chance and brought her home to see if I could help. Now, after several litters of kittens and some studying on behavior, I had some weapons. Months went by, but we were able to acclimate her well to dogs and to people. It was clear she favored me heavily, and over the next couple months of more socialization, it became apparent she was "my cat." Can't say no when THEY choose YOU, right?
Dexter
Dexter is one crazy kitty. He's now almost 3-years-old and brings torment to our household. We love him dearly, but he is a trouble maker. Breaking things, knocking food off counters, stealing 40+ hair ties, and overall causing disaster are just a few of his accomplishments on his resume. He is an extremely tolerant cat and will go up to anyone who can love him. Every guest is greeted by Dexter at some point early on. Then he solicits love and affection for the majority of time visitors are around.
